About the Role

Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is a premier property located in Chicago's vibrant South Loop, directly connected to the largest convention center in North America. The hotel features 1,258 guest rooms (undergoing an $85M transformation starting December 2025), 60,000 sq. ft. of newly renovated event space, three on-site restaurants, and exclusive access to sell meeting space at McCormick Place through the Hyatt sales agreement. The role of Group Sales Manager involves managing a designated market segment, focusing on corporate and association groups, and contributing to Hyatt's evolving hospitality experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow group business within your assigned market segment.
  • Sell guest rooms, meeting space, and other Hyatt services.
  • Conduct client site inspections and sales presentations.
  • Prepare compelling proposals and maintain well-organized documentation.
  • Coordinate customer service needs in collaboration with Sales, Events, and Catering teams.
  • Utilize Hyatt sales systems effectively and uphold high service standards.
  • Participate in sales meetings and may lead team initiatives.
  • Partner closely with a dedicated Sales Coordinator and support staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of hotel sales experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and sales technology platforms.
  • A proactive, collaborative spirit and a genuine desire to exceed client expectations.
  • Training in selling, negotiating, or business writing is a plus.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of hotel sales experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in sales technology platforms.
