About the Role

The HDx Account Manager at Agilent Technologies is responsible for managing healthcare diagnostics customers within the Greater NYC Area and Long Island. The role involves maintaining and expanding customer relationships, driving direct sales of products, developing strategic sales plans, and collaborating with various stakeholders to support product implementation and customer satisfaction. The position requires extensive travel and a focus on oncology diagnostics, genomics, and pathology workflows, with an emphasis on achieving sales targets and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales of Cancer Diagnostic Products, including Genomics and Pathology automated workflow solutions into the Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Marketplace.
  • Promotes Agilent Pathology/Genomics products and identifies potential sales opportunities to achieve the sales plan.
  • Develops and implements strategies to maintain and/or expand sales within an assigned territory.
  • Collaborates with service, applications, sales, and marketing specialists to support customer needs.
  • Prepares account plans to identify customer needs and opportunities for short, mid, and long-term growth.
  • Forecasts product demand within the territory and provides reports on sales activity and budget.
  • Manages financial proposals, territory management, and sales forecasting.
  • Contacts customers regularly in-person and virtually to maintain relationships, advise on new products, and gather feedback.
  • Calls on stakeholders including Pathologists, Administrators, Technicians, Purchasing Agents, and Managers in clinical labs and hospitals.
  • Ensures post-implementation support from sales, applications, service, and training departments.
  • Serves as a point of escalation for customer issues and expedites resolution of problems or complaints.
  • Prepares and delivers technical/product presentations and demonstrations.
  • Participates in trade shows and shares product information.
  • Provides feedback to marketing and engineering teams for product improvements.
  • Shares customer insights throughout all product lifecycle phases.
  • Prepares and presents Business Review Analysis to top customers bi-annually.
  • Achieves assigned Key Performance Indicators and maintains industry compliance.
  • Travel approximately 75-80% within the territory, including working at customer facilities with varying conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Medical Technologist certification and/or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4+ years of direct sales experience selling medical devices or related products and services.
  • Experience calling on Reference Labs, Medical Centers, Pathologists, or related providers is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Genomics and Next Generation Sequencing workflows is a plus.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams, and navigating CRM tools and enterprise software.
  • Ability to work independently with good judgment, maintain a strong work ethic, and focus in the field.
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle large customers and multiple sales points.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Genomics and Next Gen Sequencing workflows.
  • Experience calling on Reference Labs, Medical Centers, Pathologists, or related providers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Medical Technologist certification.
