About the Role

The Head of Industry, Retail Big Box at Google is responsible for leading strategic client relationships and driving growth within the retail sector by leveraging Google's advertising solutions. This role involves collaborating with large omni-channel retailers, influencing market strategies, and shaping the future of advertising in the AI-era. The position emphasizes building trusted relationships, understanding client business objectives, and delivering innovative, results-driven solutions to meet ambitious goals in a dynamic marketing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structure a clear, long-term joint strategy between Google and clients, and lead a cross-functional team within Google to collaborate on projects and drive client success.
  • Plan for, and achieve, growth goals, through the presentation of Google advertising products/solutions that will help clients to meet their marketing objectives.
  • Build an in-depth knowledge of how Google advertising products work and can be used to help meet a wide range of marketing objectives.
  • Build and manage relationships with C-level clients and senior partner stakeholders.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of clients' business challenges, marketing objectives, and success metrics.
  • Manage a team of Account Executives, set and communicate team priorities, make decisions, and support activities that align with Google's values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience in advertising sales, digital marketing, consulting, or media.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with senior clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and advertising products.
  • Experience influencing executive-level clients and stakeholders and driving results in complex, agile environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience influencing executive-level clients and stakeholders and driving results in complex, agile environments.
  • Retail media experience and knowledge of Google Ad Solutions, video advertising (e.g., AI-powered Performance, CTV, AI-powered Video), and the key competitor landscape across traditional and digital brand media advertising.
  • Experience in managing and developing sales teams to deliver results, and ability to sell and propose creative technologies across various landscapes of key decision makers.
  • Understanding of customer business objectives and ability to develop joint business plans in complex, ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to align strategies and deliver customer business outcomes.
