Job Description

About the Role

The Head of Media at The Hero Company is responsible for building and leading an internal media buying agency focused on profitably scaling creative campaigns across multiple platforms. The role involves working closely with founders, leadership, and external agency partners to grow revenue and profit through strategic media buying, creative and funnel strategy, and team development. The company specializes in direct response marketing for anti-aging products, with a strong online culture that values speed, learning, and victory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead creative and funnel strategy, including static images, videos, UGC, medical authority on camera, direct-to-VSL, and quiz funnels.
  • Liaise with existing media advertising agencies and partners to ensure internal media team complements external strategies.
  • Grow internal share of media spend by outperforming external agencies on KPIs related to profitable revenue at scale.
  • Systematically test new media channels for profitable spend and revenue, then scale successful tests across offers and product lines.
  • Manage and optimize online ad campaigns across platforms such as Meta, Google, Applovin, and Native.
  • Drive landing page creation and optimization, including quizzes, listicles, and sales pages, to ensure high conversion rates.
  • Contribute to long-term growth strategy by working on customer acquisition and media network expansion.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of current media buying trends and tools, including new platforms like Veo3.

Requirements

  • Experience managing $50M+ annual media spend and scaling campaigns to $100,000+ per day.
  • Deep familiarity with Meta advertising platforms, including testing and scaling campaigns.
  • Strong leadership skills, including communication, inspiration, networking, and talent attraction.
  • Robust network of active media buyers and awareness of industry changes.
  • Ability to produce or oversee creative production, including copy, videos, and landing pages.
  • Skill in creating and writing advertorials and sales letter landing pages that convert.
  • Comfort with holding ROAS targets and optimizing campaigns for profitability.

Nice to Have

  • Experience scaling campaigns on additional networks such as GDN/YT, Native, AppLovin, or TikTok.
  • Ability to do creative production work yourself or oversee it effectively.
  • Existing network of media buying professionals and industry insiders.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in conversion optimization and senior-level media buying roles.
