About the Role

Join us as a Head of Sales and Distribution, Accident and Health, US and Canada to make a greater impact through your technical expertise and people skills. The role involves developing and executing sales and distribution strategies to achieve growth objectives for the US and Canada A&H businesses, partnering with underwriting leadership to optimize distribution networks, and driving top and bottom-line growth. Reporting to the Head of Accident and Health, US and Canada, this position is based at AIG and offers an opportunity to influence market presence and growth in the accident and health insurance sector across North America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve annual Gross Premium Written (GPW) targets through new business development and renewal retention.
  • Create and implement regional sales strategies aligned with A&H business objectives to optimize market presence and drive profitable growth.
  • Drive sales team to proactively target accounts and portfolios of business in their regional territory.
  • Partner with Head of Underwriting and Regional Underwriting Managers to set distribution targets and coordinate pricing strategies.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage the sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and professional growth.
  • Analyze sales metrics and manage pipeline to accurately forecast revenue, identify areas for improvement, and guide strategic decisions.
  • Develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy that promotes the company's value proposition.
  • Design and execute a broker segmentation strategy to align resources, deepen engagement, and optimize relationships.
  • Manage A&H Account Management team to drive engagement and growth with top-tier brokers, ensuring strong broker and client servicing and retention.
  • Collaborate with AIG General Insurance Distribution and leverage Property & Casualty relationships to cross-sell and expand A&H opportunities.
  • Drive increased engagement with Client Directors and Broker Leaders to enhance cross-sell opportunities and strategic account development.
  • Provide insight and competitive intelligence to leadership to inform decisions and refine market strategy.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably in Accident & Health or related products.
  • Experience leading regional account management teams.
  • Deep understanding of broker and distribution networks across North America.
  • Strong business acumen focused on revenue, profitability, and growth.
  • Excellent analytical skills and data-driven decision-making ability.
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, guide, and mentor teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into actionable regional sales strategies.
  • Effective delegation and performance management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to influence stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship management expertise to grow key broker and client relationships.
  • Expertise in Salesforce.com as CRM for sales analytics, pipeline management, and forecasting.
