About the Role

Kennett Square, PA. Chatham is seeking a Head of User Experience to transform UX into a strategic powerhouse, influence product strategy at the highest level, and build a culture of design excellence. The role involves partnering with executive leadership, leading a multidisciplinary team, and integrating AI into UX workflows. Key Responsibilities

Introduce and integrate responsible, practical uses of AI in user experience design and research workflows.
Develop and communicate a clear UX vision aligned with Chatham's strategic goals and measurable business outcomes.
Build executive trust, secure investment, and position UX as a recognized strategic driver.
Increase the visibility of the User Experience Team and the value it brings to the organization.
Build strong relationships with commercial and client-facing teams.
Remove organizational blockers by securing early client access and ensuring UX engagement at the right stage.
Partner with UX Operations to define scalable workflows, team rituals, and resourcing models.
Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary UX team with clear roles, expectations, and progression paths.
Partner with Product and Engineering to improve delivery focus, optimize PDLC touchpoints, and guide the strategic growth and adoption of the Design System.
Define and track UX metrics to guide decisions and demonstrate ROI, including accessibility and inclusive design measures.
Participate in interface reviews, feedback sessions, and demos as an active member of the UX team.
Turn complexity into simplicity.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in UX/Product Design with at least 5 years leading multidisciplinary teams.
Proven success influencing executives and managing upward in an in-house B2B environment.
Track record of delivering measurable UX impact tied to business goals and P&L.
Deep understanding of visual and interaction design principles, including accessibility and ADA compliance.
Expertise in design systems, scalable design processes, and Agile/PDLC collaboration.
Proficiency with Figma, Jira/Confluence, and other design and collaboration tools.
Experience applying AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, v0, Copilot) in design workflows.
Exceptional storytelling and executive communication skills.
Ability to foster collaboration, transparency, trust, and safety while encouraging debate and decisive actions.
Portfolio demonstrating design system deliverables, UX leadership, influence on outcomes, and how design supported business success.

Nice to Have

Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, v0, Copilot in design workflows.
Experience influencing product strategy and securing executive buy-in.
Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design measures.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalency certificate (GED)
