About the Role

The User Experience Senior Principal at The Home Depot is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving end-to-end customer and associate experiences across multiple domains. The role involves working with cross-functional teams including strategists, designers, researchers, and product managers to craft innovative retail strategies that balance user needs with business objectives. The position emphasizes thought leadership in UX strategy, research, and design best practices, with a focus on delivering consistent, high-quality UX artifacts and fostering a collaborative environment that champions customer insights and usability enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

Models and ensures consistency of deliverables across domains, leads synthesis and facilitation activities, and delivers UX strategy artifacts such as experience maps and service blueprints.
Develops and mentors principals and future leaders on strategy, planning, and innovative practices; helps align resources to products based on skillset and team needs; attracts, retains, develops, and motivates top talent.
Partners with Product, Development, UX resources, and business stakeholders across multiple domains; drives UX practice, vision, and purpose; combines user research with organizational goals to articulate experience visions and drive alignment; communicates insights and opportunities to drive value across domains.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience working with agile software development teams.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence both business and product leadership.
Ability to operate autonomously, proactively identify insights and opportunities, and support multiple product teams.
Experience in leading strategic UX activities, including experience mapping, service blueprints, and facilitating synthesis activities.

Nice to Have

Experience in leading large-scale UX initiatives across multiple domains.
Strong decision-making and collaboration skills.
Experience mentoring and developing UX teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
