About the Role

The HVAC Commercial Sales Engineer (Remote) supports the growth of the Coleman commercial equipment business by providing technical and sales expertise. The role involves working closely with regional account managers, distributor partners, contractors, and engineers to assess needs and identify growth opportunities for commercial packaged rooftops, split systems, and controls. The position emphasizes business development, product differentiation, and cross-functional collaboration to drive profitable sales and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Regional Account Managers in building out the commercial growth strategy for channel partners and achieving profitable results.
  • Develop strategic account relationships and become a Trusted Advisor with key partners.
  • Create brand-specific promotions, training content, and sales tools to increase sales and ease of doing business with distributors.
  • Identify growth targets and shift sales strategies to win new customers.
  • Support existing contacts with complex take-offs, spec interpretation, navigator selections, pricing, lead times, and customer service.
  • Differentiate our equipment and products from competitors through technical presentations and solutions.
  • Sell factory inventory for stocking and job-specific opportunities, including discounted R-410a and safety stock.
  • Support new product launches and industry changes with sales training.
  • Assist channel partners in recommending solutions to engineers, contractors, and end users based on customer needs.
  • Serve as the primary communication resource for product management.
  • Help update distributor ERP information for stocked SKUs.
  • Lead commercial excellence through collaboration with pricing, pre-sales engineering, customer service, and factory scheduling teams.
  • Assist demand planning with sales and factory scheduling teams.
  • Gather feedback from channel partners on product deficiencies and relay insights to product management.
  • Interface with technical support and escalate issues as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' HVAC/R or System Design experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong customer relationships and ability to penetrate the commercial equipment market.
  • Ability to provide solutions and system designs based on customer requirements.
  • Strong business acumen and relationship development skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to travel at least 50 - 60% of the time.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in a related field.
