Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate, establish, and build profitable service relationships between new customers and Johnson Controls.
  • Focus on selling renewable maintenance agreements as the key building block for establishing these relationships.
  • Work within an assigned geographic territory, collaborating with sales and operations professionals within the branch.
  • Use sales tools to plan and document sales progress and increase business opportunities in current accounts.
  • Obtain and close business on a monthly basis.
  • Identify, target, and qualify prospective new customers through disciplined and professional processes.
  • Contact prospective customers, schedule appointments, and build a referral network.
  • Conduct sales calls to identify key problems or dissatisfaction with heating/cooling, ventilation, and control systems.
  • Develop a sense of urgency to resolve customer needs and position Johnson Controls as the supplier of choice.
  • Propose solutions to customer needs through creative application of local branch capabilities, emphasizing digital services, sustainability, and decarbonization.
  • Review and finalize proposals with prospects and secure commitments.
  • Conduct customer kick-off meetings, resolve issues, create pull-through opportunities, and support the collections process.
  • Keep management informed of progress and account status using Salesforce.com and other means.
  • Develop and implement territory marketing plans aligned with company strategy.
  • Attend and present at trade shows and participate in professional organizations.
  • Represent Johnson Controls professionally, conducting business with high standards of quality, pride, integrity, and performance.

Requirements

  • 2-3 previous progressive sales roles.
  • Ability to identify, target, and qualify prospective customers.
  • Strong communication skills for individual and group presentations.
  • Experience selling service and intangible offerings.
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies, standards, and disciplines.

Nice to Have

  • Aptitude for technical knowledge with high attention to detail.
  • Exposure to sales methodologies, standards, and disciplines.
  • Knowledge of Building HVAC Systems.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com.
  • Post-secondary education.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education (preferred).
