About the Role

Join Sam's Club as our Director of Advertising Sales and shape our strategic direction. Lead a consultative sales team to create data-driven solutions using sponsored search, display, social, CTV, and in-store events. Boost revenue and promote Sam's Club MAP at targeted events by collaborating with merchants and partners, all while delivering exceptional member experiences. We are looking for a sales-driven leader who empowers their team, embraces our culture, and inspires positive change. You will manage a sales team for the Food Business category, reporting to the Head of Sales. With a team of 10+ professionals, you'll bring strategic vision, experience scaling businesses, and the ability to motivate a high-performing team. Your expertise in selling retail experiences will be crucial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide the future strategic direction of the business.
  • Build, inspire, train, and manage a motivated, consultative sales and services team.
  • Forecast and allocate resources to build profitable results.
  • Share best practices across the entire sales team to enhance talent and overall performance.
  • Understand our clients' businesses and develop appropriate data-driven solutions to meet their needs.
  • Implement projects involving quantitative analysis, industry research, and strategy development.
  • Collaborate with partners to increase revenue with new and existing customers.
  • Be the point of escalation for any potential issues.
  • Consult with Product Marketing to help shape product development to support client needs across the business.
  • Promote Sam's Club MAP with agencies and suppliers at targeted events, conferences, and media opportunities.
  • Champion Sam's Club MAP product releases internally and externally.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and present solutions in a compelling, positive, and professional way.
  • Be a leader within Sam's Club and the industry.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of hands-on experience building teams.
  • 12+ years experience driving revenue growth within established partnerships.
  • 10+ years experience with advertising technology, data, and performance measurement trends.
  • Demonstrated track record in leading a team to surpass targets and grow business partnerships.
  • Experience communicating product benefits and translating insights using data-led storytelling.
  • Experience forging relationships with top marketing decision-makers at brands, agencies, and API partners.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing and sales, advertising, or related area and 5 years' experience in business development, market development, or related area, OR 7 years' experience in business development, market development, or related area with 1 year's supervisory experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing and sales, advertising, or related area.
  • 5 years' experience in business development, market development, or related area, OR 7 years' experience in business development, market development, or related area with 1 year's supervisory experience.
