About the Role

The Tools & Safety Inside Product Specialist supports and promotes Tools and Safety product lines in support of company growth and strategic objectives. At Werner Electric Supply, a community-oriented electrical distributor founded in 1948, the role involves maintaining product knowledge, conducting demos and presentations, managing customer interactions through CRM, executing product strategies, collaborating with teams, and providing post-sales support. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product offerings and pricing strategies to provide informed and competitive quoting.
  • Prepare and conduct product and technology-based demos, presentations, and seminars for customers to promote the products.
  • Utilize the customer relationship manager (CRM) tool to log and manage customer opportunities, tasks, customer interactions, and support responses from customers in assigned region.
  • Execute product strategy for new and emerging products within designated product lines.
  • Participate in sales planning meetings with Account Managers and Product Manager as requested.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on tool products, features, and usage.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure product availability.
  • Provide post-sales support to customers including assisting with escalated issues, troubleshooting, and expediting issues to vendor partners.
  • Support eCommerce/Marketing with validation of products and content and improve online presence of tools and safety.

Requirements

  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and 1-2 years of customer service experience.
  • Alternatively, 3-5 years of relevant experience in the tools and safety equipment industry, including familiarity with product specifications, applications, and distribution channels.
  • Proficiency with customer relationship management software (CRM).

Nice to Have

  • Experience or background with product distribution is strongly preferred.
  • Working experience within business systems (Solar highly preferred).
  • Working experience in trades is highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of customer service experience if holding a degree.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in tools and safety equipment industry if not holding a degree.
