Job Description

About the Role

This internship is located in the Partnerships Unit, Digital and Promotion Branch (DPB), News and Media Division (NMD), Department of Global Communications (DGC). It involves supporting the marketing, promotion, and distribution of UN multimedia products and services, including media placement, promotional materials, event participation, and data analysis to enhance partnerships and audience reach. The intern will work in a team-oriented environment, conducting research and assisting with various projects related to the promotion of UN multimedia content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and contact potential media outlet clients for UN multimedia content, with the aim of securing broadcast/dissemination partnerships.
  • Research and identify opportunities for strategic partnerships to enlarge the audience for UN-produced media products.
  • Analyze data analytics for insight into audience usage of UN multimedia content to produce recommendations for marketing and promotion strategy.
  • Research predictive and/or generative artificial intelligence tools and apply them to their work as appropriate.
  • Assist in the preparation for special events, including organizing promotional materials for distribution.
  • Research, analyze, and report information on assigned topics/issues from diverse sources.
  • Draft letters and email messages, compile promotional kits, etc.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or higher) or the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications.
  • Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
  • Complete online application including a Cover Note and Personal History Profile.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using online and offline research tools.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with the use of artificial intelligence tools in a professional context.
  • Familiarity with HTML and presentation software/platforms.
  • Experience in digital marketing and distribution, public relations, communications, information studies, journalism, broadcast media, or related fields.
  • National/international experience.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in or completion of a graduate or final year undergraduate degree program (bachelor, master's, or Ph.D.).
  • Official certificate of educational qualification may be required at a later stage.
