About the Role

The Internal Sales Manager- Retirement Plans will lead and direct a Retirement Plans regional sales consultant team responsible for providing product information, proposal support, retirement plan training, competition and retirement plan opportunity research, and proactive outreach/support to financial professionals, advisors, RIAs, agents, and field office staff. The role involves managing sales strategies, developing team capabilities, and building relationships within the industry to achieve sales goals and support the company's mission of fulfilling life through trusted financial products and advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the achievement of annual sales goals for Retirement Plan sales.
  • Creates, executes, and measures the effectiveness of plans for sales promotions and campaigns, product rollouts, and follow-ups from meetings and training events.
  • Applies management expertise to set direction and resolve problems within the team by organizing efficient workflows.
  • Develops and monitors activity and sales metrics to ensure regional sales consultants add value and contribute to increased sales.
  • Provides sales reporting and researches industry trends regarding field training, sales support, and product marketing.
  • Provides professional development to team through formal training, work assignments, and mentoring.
  • Establishes strong relationships with industry leaders including managed account providers, advisory firms, and ancillary retirement plan sales leaders.
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address operational challenges that may hinder sales attainment.
  • Builds structure within Salesforce tracking system for effective measurement of campaigns and marketing programs.
  • Responsible for strategic direction, development, hiring, and implementation of the internal sales development team.
  • Leads or actively participates in projects to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on proposals and sold case paperwork.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4-7 years of retirement plan experience.
  • 4-7 years of wholesaling experience (preferred).
  • 2-4 years of supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Series 6 license and State Life and Health licenses.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Salesforce tracking system.
  • Experience in developing and executing sales campaigns and product rollouts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4-7 years of retirement plan experience.
  • Series 6 license.
