Job Description

About the Role

The Key Account Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and managing a sales pipeline, and securing business towards the goal of achieving or exceeding annual sales objectives. The Account Manager strives to establish strong relationships throughout customer organizations (purchasing managers, maintenance, and engineering departments) to ensure optimal customer satisfaction and revenue generation. To be successful, you will need to be a hunter who enjoys finding and developing both current and new accounts, with a current market presence being very beneficial. The product sold is considered a game changer with substantial growth opportunities in the market. The role also involves supporting regional outside sales reps to identify customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of outside sales.
  • Develops and maintains business relationships with key customers.
  • Works with Maintenance, Engineering and Purchasing departments to effectively promote all the Utility Services Group products and services.
  • Possesses superior interpersonal communication skills.
  • Forms long-term personal relationships with customers, including at the executive level of the top customer locations.
  • Sets goals and objectives, generating revenue through market development, forecasting, lead generation, qualification, and closing sales.
  • Expands existing sales base through consistent performance, building rapport with existing and potential clients, explaining product and service capabilities, overcoming objections, and preparing proposals and quotations.
  • Cooperates and works with other OTC Inside Sales teams and System Engineers to exchange information and identify opportunities, qualify accounts to expand product sales.
  • Works and collaborates with factory representatives to grow revenue of OTC distributed product lines.
  • Performs sales calls, product demonstrations, and other developmental activities to increase market share of OTC preferred channel partners.
  • Maintains and submits monthly activity reporting.

Requirements

  • A college degree or a minimum of four (4) years' experience selling/marketing products to industrial markets.
  • Experience working within this market is preferred for top performers.
  • Ability to utilize technical skills to solve customer problems and assist sales staff.
