About the Role

The Key Account Manager is a high-profile sales role at Abcam, a Danaher operating company, responsible for driving high impact and managing complex accounts within the life sciences, diagnostics, and biotechnology sectors. The role involves building relationships with key buyers, developing strategic account plans, and collaborating across functions to achieve sales growth, profitability, and strategic goals. The position offers the opportunity to work remotely, develop peer-to-peer relationships, and contribute to impactful scientific advancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with key influencers and decision makers to enhance corporate relationships, maximize revenue growth, and accelerate market share gain.
  • Develop and execute strategic multi-year account plans that build effective alliances and maximize share of wallet across Abcam's portfolio.
  • Coordinate internal resources to provide comprehensive solutions that meet internal value drivers and delight customers.
  • Drive customer-centric solutions that position Abcam and other Danaher companies as critical partners.
  • Maintain market and competitor awareness, effectively communicate customer insights to internal stakeholders to improve product offering, pricing, and positioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in life science or similar discipline.
  • Five or more years of current field sales or senior account management experience, ideally in the region.
  • Proven success in achieving above-market growth in key accounts.
  • Ability to speak to proteomics and/or antibody-based applications and products with top-tier customers and translate into business opportunities.
  • Solid understanding of the biopharma and academia life science market.
  • Must be located in the region and within distance to customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 50-75% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in other commercial, technical, or customer-facing roles.
  • Life Sciences or related PhD, MS, or MBA.
  • Experience and knowledge of Miller Heiman blue sheet or equivalent methodology.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in life sciences or related field.
  • Experience in sales or account management within the life sciences or biopharma industry.
