About the Role

The Lead, Brand Commercialization - Pet role is part of the BC (Brand Commercialization) Team, which acts as a key link between Brand Marketing and Field Sales by translating national strategies into retail channel go-to-market strategies. The team advocates for customer perspectives during planning, innovation, and brand strategy meetings, creating tools such as national playbooks and new item sell-in materials, and resolving channel conflicts. The role involves developing sales strategies, communicating brand initiatives, driving in-market execution, and translating national brand strategies for Meow Mix, converting marketing plans and insights into channel-specific objectives to meet volume and share targets. The position is based in Orrville, OH, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring a minimum of 9 days onsite per month.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate national brand strategies, marketing plans, and insights into sales strategies by key channels.
  • Influence the development of Long Range and Annual Operating Plans (quota, trade, situation assessments) from a Category, Customer, Channel, & Competitive lens.
  • Create channel specific sales fundamental objectives to achieve priorities and sales controllable objectives such as distribution, pricing, shelving, merchandising, and new items.
  • Lead the development of national sales presentations and tools that are rich in category and shopper insights to support Field Sales in executing initiatives effectively.
  • Communicate key Category, Customer, and Competitive insights into volume forecasts.
  • Assist in the development of trade promotion strategies, trade merchandising plans, and major trade initiatives.
  • Understand the efficiency and effectiveness of specific trade promotions and sales activities, and make recommendations as needed.
  • Provide regular updates to Field Sales on key marketing elements and initiatives.
  • Support key initiatives impacting customers, including supply allocation, label changes, innovation launches, and SKU rationalizations.
  • Assist in creating materials for National Sales Meetings and Sales webcasts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 7+ years' experience in CPG Customer Marketing (Brand Commercialization/Customer Commercialization), Brand Marketing, CPG Customer Sales Management, or related go-to-market responsibilities.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Drive for results while managing ambiguity and complexity.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and analyzing consumption data (e.g., Nielsen).
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
