The Lead Director of Brand & Industry Marketing Strategy for CVS Media Exchange (CMX) is responsible for defining and building the CMX brand, developing marketing strategies, and leading a team to drive advertiser acquisition, retention, and brand equity in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team focused on defining and building the CMX brand, positioning it internally and externally, and creating long-term brand equity.
  • Inspire innovative brand marketing, communications, and storytelling across all touchpoints and industry activations.
  • Develop the annual marketing and editorial calendar supported by campaigns to drive advertiser acquisition and retention.
  • Implement a lead management process for the Partner Management Team.
  • Own the CMX brand strategy, architecture, content calendar, and narrative across all touchpoints.
  • Drive the development and strategy for the marketing plan and annual activation calendar, including messaging, industry events, speaking engagements, and sales enablement.
  • Define the owned and earned content calendar activating across channels such as the CMX site, LinkedIn, and eNewsletter, and collaborate with CVS Health Corporate Communications and external PR agencies.
  • Partner with Consumer Insights to understand advertisers and communication opportunities related to offering, awareness, and satisfaction via semi-annual brand tracker surveys.
  • Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, analyze spending, and ensure cost-effectiveness and ROI.
  • Lead and mentor a growing team of marketers, fostering a culture of inspiration, growth, and empowerment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of marketing strategy experience with a strong foundation in retail or commerce media, B2B consumer product goods, pharma, or media agency experience.
  • 6+ years of cross-functional leadership experience.
  • 4+ years of brand marketing or commerce agency/strategy experience.
  • 4+ years of digital marketing experience, including testing and validating emerging opportunities, with emphasis on B2B content.
  • 2+ years of brand or category management experience is a plus.
  • Strong retail/commerce media acumen and understanding of the landscape.
  • Proven B2B storyteller with ability to distill complex concepts into compelling content.
  • Editorial mindset capable of managing a flexible B2B content and event calendar.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Self-motivated, high-capacity individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with marketing technology, lead generation, and management tools.
  • Ability to make fact-based decisions balancing analytics and personal experience.

  • Experience with relevant marketing channels including marketing enablement and lead management.
  • MBA degree.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field, or equivalent (HS Diploma + 4 years experience).
  • MBA preferred.
