About the Role

The Manager, Brand Marketing, North America (Sport) at Converse is responsible for leading the development and execution of omni-channel marketing strategies for sport account partners in the North American retail segment. This role involves creating innovative marketing plans, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and driving brand distinction through storytelling and consumer engagement. The position can be located at Converse HQ in Boston, MA, or Nike LA HQ in Costa Mesa, CA, and reports to the Director, Retail Marketing NA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and overarching plan for sport account marketing at Converse, from inception to execution.
  • Coach and guide a team of marketers to ensure alignment with marketing plans and brand objectives.
  • Develop long-term, annual, and seasonal retail sport segment and key account marketing plans based on brand, retail, and marketplace priorities.
  • Create omni-channel consumer journeys that connect the marketplace experience across sporting goods, athletic specialty, neighborhood, and skate accounts.
  • Collaborate with retail marketing, commercial, brand marketing, creative, external account marketing teams, and agency partners to bring marketing plans to life.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with account counterparts, building trust season-over-season.
  • Travel regularly to the market to develop deep expertise in the retail landscape of sport accounts and improve brand presence.
  • Manage and maximize marketing budgets, track purchase orders, and process credit memos for marketing tactics.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing role, preferably with retail brand/account marketing, brand marketing, or digital direct marketing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Experience developing retail consumer journeys and programming in both digital and physical retail environments.
  • Strong understanding of retail, visual merchandising, marketplace, consumer experience, and multi-channel marketing.
  • Experience managing direct reports and leading teams.
  • Solid understanding of digital platforms including Apps, Email, SEO, Performance Marketing, and Social Media.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience managing budgets, authoring marketing briefs, and working with external agencies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with the ability to use data to drive decisions and optimize marketing efforts.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 20% of the time.

  • Ability to think creatively and challenge conventional marketing approaches.
