About the Role

The Manager, Creative Insights Lead at Alaska Airlines is responsible for leading strategic development of brand, marketing, and storytelling initiatives within the Creative Studio. The role involves collaborating with internal teams to develop innovative ideas rooted in guest insights and cultural relevance, overseeing research and data analysis, and guiding a creative team to produce impactful work that enhances brand affinity and connection. The position is integral to creating high-impact creative work that aligns with business objectives and fosters a culturally resonant brand presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with in-house creative teams and internal stakeholders to develop big idea concepts based on guest insights and cultural relevance.
  • Lead strategic development across multiple brands, including brand strategy, positioning, tone of voice, and messaging frameworks.
  • Translate business objectives into inspiring, innovative, and actionable creative briefs.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research such as guest analysis data, competitive audits, and trend spotting.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure consistency and strategic alignment across campaign and project touchpoints.
  • Identify, pitch, and own new in-house project opportunities, including process improvements and tools to enhance efficiency.
  • Oversee and mentor the copywriting team to ensure cohesive and challenging creative ideas.
  • Develop team members through performance management, ongoing feedback, and delegation of stretch assignments.
  • Shape team culture through actions, presence, and reinforcement of desired behaviors.
  • Stay informed on social trends, emerging platforms, and cultural influences to inspire creative thinking.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in brand strategy, creative strategy, or a related field within an agency or in-house creative/marketing team.
  • 2 years of experience with direct people leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in creative arts, marketing, communications, or equivalent training/experience.
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong planning and project management capabilities.
  • Experience with research methodologies and translating data into insights.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice to Have

  • Background in copywriting, journalism, psychology, anthropology, or design.
  • A portfolio of case studies or work demonstrating bold ideas and strategic impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or additional relevant training/experience in lieu of degree.
