Job Description

About the Role

The HCA Healthcare Manager of Automation is responsible for driving the execution and delivery of high value enterprise automation solutions, evaluating, selecting, implementing, and supporting automation technology and platforms. This role involves developing, coordinating, and implementing automation strategies to support business goals, managing automation development teams, and fostering relationships with stakeholders across the organization. The position is part of the Information Technology Group, which applies technology solutions specifically to healthcare, with a mission to raise the bar, unlock possibilities, and care like family.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive execution of the automation projects and technology within and across business unit engagements
  • Drive adoption of the company automation strategy and simplification processes
  • Maintain a working knowledge of automation goals related to the supported business lines
  • Develop and maintain internal and external IT support systems for automation
  • Create, implement, and maintain a continuous improvement plan for automation development
  • Lead efforts to develop and/or optimize existing processes and procedures
  • Develop and execute training and certification programs for automation platforms
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for automation technology and platforms
  • Manage costs and expenditures related to automation department budget
  • Build relationships with business lines, ITG teams, vendors, and external organizations
  • Provide after-hours management on-call support and oversee high-impact incidents
  • Participate in major events or problem efforts involving multiple divisions and vendors

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred
  • Seven or more years of relevant work experience
  • Three or more years of management experience
  • Five or more years in information technology
  • One or more years experience in process improvement
  • Knowledge of automation development, platforms, and related technologies
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Proven leadership and project management abilities
  • Experience with vendor management and complex project execution
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare information systems and industry trends
  • Willingness to take appropriate risks and navigate a highly matrixed organization
  • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred

  • Experience in healthcare industry
  • Experience with Agile teams
  • Knowledge of architectural principles, microservices, and distributed systems
  • Knowledge of resource models such as managed services and staff augmentation
  • Experience with industry technology language development trends
