About the Role

The Manager - Key Account Region is responsible for maximizing customer and UNITED profitability and case sales within assigned areas by building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring store execution, and planning effective price and promotional strategies. This is a field-based role focused on managing key accounts such as Large Store, Small Store, and On Premise, with an emphasis on executing business plans, negotiating contracts, and driving sales growth in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Builds and implements a customer's yearly business plan and ensures proper execution of pricing, promotional programs, and Customer Marketing Agreements (CMA).
  • Ensures in-outlet standards are executed per channel direction.
  • Leads the call for each assigned customer and is responsible for selling in key initiatives such as price package plan, business results, new brands, promotions, and marketing activities.
  • Coordinates the development of aligned business goals with customers based on channel strategy.
  • Conducts market visits with customers to measure performance versus execution standards in each channel.
  • Provides feedback and recommendations to the leadership team on competitive threats and business opportunities.
  • Leads the negotiation and renewal of contracts as needed.
  • Generates budgeted internal rate of return and profit analysis.
  • Manages executive-level relationships with each customer and assists in resolving concerns and issues.
  • Ensures all business and financial goals are achieved.
  • Performs duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 years old.
  • Valid driver's license and compliance with UNITED fleet policy.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within company guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of company assets.
  • Ability to utilize all company-provided resources and technology.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years managerial experience preferred.
  • Ability to create and manage price package plans that meet or exceed business goals.
  • Accountable for timely and accurate price management and validation of pricing monthly.
  • Strong communication skills for strategy and promotion implementation.
  • Experience with beverage and consumer packaged goods preferred, including knowledge of bottler environment and equipment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholder needs and concerns.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to quickly learn internal United systems, SAP, and Margin Minder.
  • Physical ability to wear safety-toed shoes and operate powered industrial equipment as required.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with beverage and consumer packaged goods.
  • Knowledge of bottler environment and equipment such as Freestyle, Fountain, Coolers, Vending, Micro Market.
  • Complex selling knowledge with ability to create and implement customer-specific promotional programs.
  • Experience in business development planning.
