The Medical Affairs team provides medical expertise to inform research, evidence generation, professional engagement, and medical education to support the company’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective medical leadership and collaborate within project teams to advise and guide strategic objectives and operational decisions impacting global project direction.
  • Act as the medical expert, utilizing knowledge of diabetes management, standards of care, published data, and key opinion leader insights.
  • Shape medically sound product design requirements, assess system and user error risks, and advise on risk control measures for safe and effective use.
  • Engage with clinical validation teams to formulate study needs, evaluate outcomes, and confirm risk control effectiveness.
  • Develop evidence generation strategies to support regulatory approval and product claims based on program objectives and cross-functional inputs.
  • Translate data into meaningful insights supporting regulatory requirements, commercial claims, and product messaging.
  • Gather and translate medical intelligence from industry experts by engaging with Medical Science Liaison team, investigators, and advisory boards.
  • Develop and prepare medical go-to-market strategies and content for regional teams, including professional education, conference presentations, and healthcare provider engagements.
  • Establish professional learning needs and define educational requirements to ensure safe and effective use of Omnipod and related products.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years in clinical, industry, or research settings related to diabetes and devices such as insulin pumps or continuous glucose monitors.
  • Life science degree with 5+ years of experience in medical affairs or medical strategy within medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven experience in developing and leading medical strategy implementation.
  • In-depth understanding of diabetes (type 1 and type 2), disease pathophysiology, treatment options, risks, and outcomes.
  • Advanced knowledge of diabetes technology, including automated insulin delivery systems.
  • Experience designing research studies and interpreting data.
  • Skilled in medical communication to diverse audiences.
  • Strong technical and business acumen, with understanding of US and global regulatory environments for medical devices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment and effectively prioritize projects.
  • Working knowledge of relevant software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Products, and medical communication tools.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree and/or healthcare-related certification (e.g., PA/NP, Registered Nurse, Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, PhD, PharmD).

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in clinical, industry, or research settings related to diabetes and medical devices.
  • Life science degree or equivalent experience in medical affairs or medical strategy.

Benefits & Perks

  • US base salary range of $131,400.00 - $197,100.00, determined by role, level, and location.
  • Potential for bonus, equity, and benefits (not specified in detail).
  • Hybrid work environment requiring on-site presence at least 3x/week with remote work possible on other days.
  • Travel within North America and internationally up to 15% of the time.
