About the Role

The Manager of Project Management is responsible for developing time and resource schedules, organizing actions, directing and leading assigned projects to ensure that the projects are effectively executed to budget and to schedule. Acts as key interface between Product managers and cross functional teams. Recommends priorities for specific teams based on resources and timing. Communicates status to leadership team. Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage and utilize project manager resources through established standards and best practices to support Alto-Shaam's growth objectives & NPD projects
  • Identify training and support needed to ensure that project managers have correct tools to do their tasks
  • Lead, coach and mentor team for additional responsibilities within Alto-Shaam
  • Communicate status to upper management on objectives
  • Preparation of the project plan, assists with managing the plan and develops and implements project tasks
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project status, changes and other control records necessary for completing both internal and external tasks
  • Manage the NPD (New Product Development) process, including setting up team meetings, project schedules and action plans
  • Facilitate team meetings, record and distribute meeting minutes, and report delays to the appropriate functional lead
  • Identify potential project risks and develop/implement strategies to minimize impact
  • Develop and implement strategies for controlling deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines
  • Proactively communicate project schedules, change proposals, and related activities with product managers, project teams, and upper management
  • Manage projects as needed, including full range of project management responsibilities
  • Obtain market segment knowledge by attending tradeshows, traveling with Sales team, and participating in customer meetings

Requirements

  • Minimum two-year technical degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
  • Previous project management experience preferred
  • Experience in the food service industry a plus
  • Previous supervisory experience desired
  • Basic project management experience in a technical environment
  • Strong Microsoft Project (or equivalent), Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Team Player

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the food service industry
  • Previous supervisory experience

Qualifications

  • Minimum two-year technical degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
