The role of Manager, Planning, Sports involves managing a team of Sales Planners and leading digital planning initiatives within NBC Sports Digital Properties, focusing on revenue generation and campaign management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly manage a group of Planners, assisting them with plan building, rate approvals, and campaign execution.
  • Partner with Sports linear and digital planning counterparts to manage sponsorship processes, including package creation and pricing advice.
  • Review and approve Sales Plans, Pricing & Packaging Mix Guidelines for Upfront and Scatter Markets.
  • Analyze workflow processes to identify improvements and create process enhancements to eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Work with Ad Ops and Inventory teams to improve ad campaign delivery and assess risks, developing creative solutions to ensure full delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand current ad systems and provide systems support across digital platforms, including participating in new systems development meetings.
  • Support Planning Leadership with various ad hoc projects involving Sales, Planning, Research, Marketing, and Finance teams.
  • Become a Sports Digital subject matter expert, understanding sponsorships, marketing elements, social metrics, programmatic content, and ad distribution points.
  • Contribute to the training and development of Planners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of related experience in media Sales Planning or Buying.
  • Fluent in Media Math.
  • Excellent time management, presentation skills, and desire to train others.
  • Understanding of audience metrics such as age, gender, and targeted demographics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and proprietary systems like Op1, UWS, and Monday.com.
  • Willingness to work overtime and on weekends with short notice.
  • Willingness to work in the New York office at least 3 days per week.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation and have unrestricted work authorization in the U.S.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

  • Experience with digital sponsorships, marketing elements, social metrics, programmatic content, and ad distribution.
  • Experience working with internal systems and participating in new systems development.
