About the Role

The Manager of Product Management for Customer Identity & Growth at H-E-B Digital Technology is responsible for leading a team of product managers focused on gathering, enriching, and protecting customer data to enhance customer understanding and service. This role involves defining the vision and strategy for the Customer Identity platform, driving growth initiatives across acquisition, onboarding, and engagement, and delivering customer-centric experiences that meet business outcomes. The position requires strategic leadership, deep domain expertise, and a passion for building scalable digital experiences within a large-scale omnichannel retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define Product Vision & Strategy: Craft and communicate a compelling product vision for Customer Identity and Growth initiatives, aligning teams and stakeholders around shared goals to improve acquisition, activation, and retention.
  • Lead a High-Performing Team: Directly manage and mentor a team of Product Managers, fostering their development and ensuring high-quality execution while promoting a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Drive Growth & Acquisition: Own strategy and execution for top-of-funnel acquisition, including developing AI-driven features for offsite search, SEO, optimizing performance, and improving onboarding flows.
  • Enhance Customer Identity & Personalization: Oversee development of the Customer Identity platform to gather, enrich, and protect customer data, enabling increased personalization and safeguarding data privacy.
  • Influence & Partner: Build consensus across the organization, influencing stakeholders to align on priorities and outcomes, working closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Data Science, and Marketing teams.
  • Execute with a Data-Driven Approach: Lead product development with a test-and-learn mindset, owning experimentation roadmaps, using data insights to develop requirements, and delivering impactful outcomes.
  • Manage Product Lifecycle & Strategy: Lead a team managing related digital product categories, develop product roadmaps, assess market conditions, and align strategies with organizational priorities.
  • Coordinate Cross-Functional Teams: Lead project vision, manage resources, communicate complex ideas, negotiate with stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery of product features and releases.
  • Drive End-to-End Product Delivery: Oversee feature design, development, integrations, data migration, legacy system transition, stabilization, and support, managing risks and dependencies.
  • Lead and Develop Teams: Manage team performance, conduct reviews, recruit and onboard new hires, and foster a high-velocity, efficient, and motivated team environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product management or technology consulting, with at least 2 years focused on customer data.
  • Experience managing or leading people or teams (preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of customer data, identity resolution, and growth/retention-focused consumer products.
  • Strong background in AI/ML technologies and applying them to product discovery.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong quantitative or technical background with data analysis, insights synthesis, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven success in developing and executing product roadmaps and delivering impactful outcomes.
  • Broad knowledge of voice of the customer techniques and product management tools.
  • Advanced Excel, SQL, and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership, Agile/Scrum, and project management skills.
  • Ability to leverage data to tell a meaningful story and translate technical requirements for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, collaborate, and articulate value through OKRs and KPIs.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting retail, supply chain, ecommerce, or digital marketing operations.
  • Deep domain expertise in customer data, identity resolution, and growth/retention-focused consumer products.
  • Strong background in AI/ML technologies and their application in product discovery.
  • Advanced knowledge of retail accounting and finance principles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or technology consulting.
  • At least 2 years of experience focused on customer data.
  • Experience leading or managing teams (preferred).
