Job Description

About the Role

The Marketing and Fan Engagement Intern is a 10-month position supporting the athletic department's marketing and fan engagement initiatives. The role involves coordinating marketing efforts, increasing attendance and revenue at athletic events, enhancing the gameday experience, managing campus and community outreach, and assisting with social media and special events to promote PC Athletics and build fan loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and executing marketing plans for all sports to drive ticket sales, attendance, and brand awareness, with a focus on Football, Men's Basketball, and Women's Basketball.
  • Work with corporate sales to fulfill corporate partnership agreements.
  • Assist in planning, directing, and evaluating game presentation, including scripts, music, PA, video boards, promotions, and recognitions.
  • Create promotional materials and in-game content in collaboration with the Strategic Communications department.
  • Engage in community outreach with local schools, churches, recreation departments, etc., to grow attendance and engagement.
  • Coordinate campus outreach with Student Affairs, Greek Life, Campus Rec., etc., to increase student attendance and faculty/staff engagement.
  • Assist in oversight and management of athletic marketing programs such as student workers/interns, the Scotty Mascot, Scotty's Kids Club, and student rewards.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student interns, work-study students, and mascots.
  • Help develop and implement enhanced features of the Kid's Club to increase membership and engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interest in athletics marketing and promotions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent public relations and promotional skills.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends for various functions and games.

Nice to Have

  • Master's Degree in Business, Sports Administration, Marketing, Communications or other related field.
  • Marketing and/or promotional experience in athletics or related field.
  • NCAA Division 1 football or basketball in-game marketing and productions experience.
  • Graphic design experience, preferably with Photoshop or Illustrator.
