About the Role

Strategic Benefit Resources is a wholesale employee benefits agency specializing in self-funded health plan consulting and ancillary benefits. With strong carrier and vendor relationships, extensive industry expertise, and proprietary analytics, we provide comprehensive outsourced insurance services curated to the needs of our partners. We partner with employee benefit advisors, third party administrators, and other intermediaries to deliver customized outsourced stop-loss insurance services, specialized self-funded health plan expertise, and technology-driven solutions. This role involves managing client relationships, delivering high-quality customer service, and supporting sales and renewal efforts within the employee benefits sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage work flow for the client life-cycle
  • Analyze and market employee benefits programs, especially individual and aggregate stop-loss insurance
  • Assist in the development of sales and renewal strategies
  • Prepare renewal and new business proposals, presentation materials, and supporting documents such as benefit and financial analyses
  • Provide claims, eligibility, billing, and plan administration advocacy and resolution
  • Review, analyze, and negotiate carrier and vendor contracts
  • Maintain effective working relationships with carriers and vendors
  • Maintain broad knowledge of carrier and vendor products and underwriting requirements
  • Prepare and analyze reports related to claims
  • Maintain respectful relationships with clients and partners
  • Assist in the training and development of team members
  • Participate in the development and execution of company initiatives
  • Perform other duties as required by clients, business needs, or management

Requirements

  • Skilled at balancing tight timelines and competing priorities while maintaining a customer-focused attitude
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience managing confidential information (HIPAA)
  • High level of personal initiative, integrity, and professional ethics
  • Ability to work respectfully with diverse populations both internally and externally
  • Commitment to ongoing professional continuing education
  • Proven responsiveness, high attention to detail, and an administrative focus
  • College degree or equivalent job experience
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years' experience working with employee benefits programs in a brokerage or similar setting (preferred but not required)
