Job Description

About the Role

As a Marketing Director, your primary objective is to lead the marketing function for Westfield in the market, to develop short-term and long-term marketing plans that drive sales, traffic, and NOI growth. You will oversee the marketing function in terms of local marketing strategy, interpretations and execution of national marketing programs, budget allocation and management, campaign development and measurement, support local PR efforts, drive digital engagement, support retailer/brand relationships, lead the local marketing team, and ensure that talent meets business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture relationships with internal and external partners, retail, and local community partners.
  • Oversee Westfield's marketing, promotion, and advertising efforts to drive sales, build brand awareness, and ROI.
  • Develop Westfield's annual Marketing Action Plan and ensure its implementation to meet marketing goals and KPIs.
  • Create and implement marketing plans for all phases of center development in collaboration with corporate marketing, development, and asset teams.
  • Lead annual strategy with the corporate marketing & Public Relations team, including creative development, media planning, community engagement, public relations, leasing launches, and center opening.
  • Manage the center's marketing budget and development marketing budget, including tracking and management.
  • Develop and manage local media relations plans in collaboration with the national Communications/PR team.
  • Partner with corporate marketing to hire, onboard, and manage social media agencies, ensuring content aligns with brand and drives KPIs.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to ensure asset value creation and alignment.
  • Review and interpret competitor activities and trends for application to Westfield marketing initiatives.
  • Support shopping center operational duties, including customer service initiatives and satisfaction measurement programs.
  • Develop strong retailer relations and encourage retailer participation/support in marketing programs.
  • Ensure overall center aesthetics and marketing activations are on brand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of marketing and/or related experience.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic orientation, and general operations experience.
  • Retail or shopping center industry knowledge or experience preferred.
  • Leadership, strategy, marketing, and financial management skills.
  • Familiarity with digital and social media platforms and content curation.
  • Experience in public relations, media relations, and crisis management preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, clear and professional representation.
  • Strong analytical skills in understanding marketing/retail trends and communication principles.
  • Ability to create, execute, and manage contracts related to marketing RFPs.
  • Flexibility to work event shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills at all levels.
  • Experience in executing large- and small-scale marketing activities.
  • Customer and KPI-driven mindset with the ability to synthesize consumer data into tactical plans.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

  • Experience in public relations, media relations, and crisis management.
  • Knowledge of luxury market trends and brand awareness.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary in the range of $115,000 - $130,000 plus discretionary annual bonus.
