About the Role

The Marketing Director (SNF) at Morristown Manor is responsible for maintaining census levels through marketing efforts and ensuring high-quality customer service during the admissions process. The role involves coordinating internal and external marketing activities, managing relationships with community contacts, and supporting community growth within a family-owned senior-living organization that offers independent and assisted living, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and memory support across the Midwest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain budgeted census levels by coordinating external and internal marketing efforts.
  • Ensure residents and families experience high customer service levels through an effective admissions process.
  • Handle inquiry calls from hospitals, families, and other sources, providing quality appointments including warm-up, presentation, tour, and closing.
  • Maintain model rooms for touring purposes and ensure timely responses to inquiries with appropriate follow-up within 2 hours.
  • Follow up with prospective residents via telephone, personal correspondence, and on-site appointments with family members.
  • Report all inquiries, admissions, discharges, and marketing calls daily in the marketing/ads system.
  • Communicate with the Clinical Liaison regarding assessments and approval processes, and assist as backup for assessments and networking appointments.
  • Work closely with the Administrator, DON, and Business Office Manager to facilitate appropriate and efficient admissions decisions.
  • Monitor bed availability and demonstrate urgency in census and quality mix management.
  • Coordinate with nursing, housekeeping, and social services for room and bed selection upon admission determinations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community contacts such as legal and financial professionals, senior organizations, churches, and housing facilities to generate referral activity.
  • Participate in daily morning meetings to update staff on projected admissions, discharges, and appointments.
  • Prepare admission paperwork, obtain signatures, and communicate special needs of new admissions to staff.
  • Enter new admissions into the Matrix system and complete pre-admission screening checklists.
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements to community admission processes and review related forms annually.
  • Train and coordinate staff as back-up for marketing functions when needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state regulations, reimbursement processes, and managed care referral processes.
  • Monitor trends related to inquiries, admissions, census, conversions, and denials, and maintain a referral database.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and share results to develop action plans.
  • Research and develop niche services to differentiate the community from competitors.
  • Participate in community events, health fairs, and civic groups to promote the community.
  • Coordinate community materials, advertising, and media requests, reviewing all promotional items with corporate marketing.
  • Develop and implement quarterly marketing plans, monitor results, and stay within budget.
  • Organize special events and presentations to promote community education and establish the community as a leader in skilled nursing rehabilitation care.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills at all times.

Requirements

  • Energetic, team-player attitude willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
  • A confident, credible professional image.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to make presentations before small or large groups.
  • Experience or education in customer service or healthcare is desirable.
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare facility is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of the aging population.

  • Experience in health care or senior care marketing.
