About the Role

The Marketing Director at SNF Morristown Manor is responsible for maintaining census levels through external and internal marketing efforts, ensuring high customer service standards during the admissions process, and collaborating with various staff members to promote the community. The role involves developing marketing strategies, managing community relationships, and overseeing admission procedures to support the community's goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for meeting the community's census goals, including Medicare and private pay census, in accordance with the budget.
  • Handle inquiry calls from hospitals, families, and other sources, providing quality appointments, tours, and closing opportunities.
  • Maintain model rooms for touring purposes, pending bed availability.
  • Ensure timely and proper responses to inquiries with appropriate follow-up within a 2-hour turnaround.
  • Follow-up with prospective residents and families through calls, correspondence, and on-site visits.
  • Report all inquiries, admissions, discharges, and marketing calls daily in the marketing/ads system.
  • Coordinate with the Clinical Liaison regarding assessments and the approval process, providing backup support as needed.
  • Work closely with the Administrator, DON, and Business Office Manager to facilitate prospective admissions.
  • Maintain knowledge of bed availability and demonstrate urgency in census and quality mix management.
  • Make new contacts and service existing relationships with community organizations, senior groups, and referral sources to generate referral activity.
  • Participate in daily morning meetings to communicate projected admissions, discharges, and appointments.
  • Prepare admission paperwork, obtain signatures, and communicate special needs for a smooth transition.
  • Enter new admissions into the Matrix system and complete pre-admission screening checklists.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to the community’s admission processes annually.
  • Train and coordinate staff to serve as back-up for marketing functions when necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state regulations, reimbursement processes, and managed care referral procedures.
  • Prepare reports, monitor trends, and analyze data related to inquiries, admissions, and denials.
  • Maintain a database of referral contacts and community resources, and stay informed on industry trends and regulatory issues.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction among residents, families, and referral sources, sharing results for action planning.
  • Research and develop niche services to differentiate the community from competitors.
  • Participate in community events, health fairs, and civic groups to promote the community.
  • Coordinate the development of marketing materials and review advertising with corporate marketing.
  • Serve as a member of the internal marketing team to enhance resident and community relations.
  • Develop and implement quarterly marketing plans, monitoring results and staying within budget.
  • Create special events and presentations to promote community education and establish the community as a skilled nursing care leader.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills at all times.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience or education in customer service or healthcare is desirable.
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare facility is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of the aging population.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to make presentations before small or large groups.
  • Demonstrates high ethical standards and commitment to compliance with applicable laws.
  • Ability to perform essential functions effectively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and be available for on-call responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain community relationships.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations, reimbursement processes, and managed care referral processes.
