About the Role

The Sr. Group Marketing Operations and Insights Manager at Medtronic is responsible for facilitating strategic prioritization and commercial marketing excellence. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications, this role involves developing analytical capabilities, creating dashboards, providing insights for data-driven decision making, and leading a newly formed team to enhance marketing effectiveness. The position requires managing cross-functional teams, synthesizing complex data, and supporting strategic initiatives within the global marketing organization, with a focus on the US region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate effective decision making and execution of strategy in alignment with the vision and strategic direction of the marketing organization.
  • Lead and develop a team of individual contributors within the Marketing Operations and Insights organization.
  • Serve as the hub for all marketing organization, global, and US field communications.
  • Ensure consistent methods of measurement across channels and audiences.
  • Align timing of critical programs cross-functionally to ensure field focus and support from marketing functions.
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership to develop annual and quarterly goals, track progress, and report on performance.
  • Function as a thought partner and serve in an advisory capacity to marketing and commercial leadership teams.
  • Coordinate operations functions including annual budgeting, marketing enablement, digital infrastructure, analytics, and data management.
  • Lead the preparation of key marketing deliverables through cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • Create, manage, and develop the Marketing Operations and Insights organization.
  • Support strategic planning processes for the CRM division, focusing on marketing needs.
  • Develop processes for functional alignment to strategic plans and objectives.
  • Lead analytics for the commercial marketing team, including activity impact assessment and scoring.
  • Prepare business proposals, make strategic recommendations, and implement operational plans.
  • Build digital infrastructure to support future marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and execute global and US communications strategies, including channel development.
  • Respond to urgent business issues and opportunities with independent insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience with increasing responsibility in marketing and/or sales, preferably in medical devices or with an advanced degree and at least 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record recruiting, leading, and developing teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong marketing fundamentals in targeting, segmentation, positioning, and channel management.
  • Global mindset and ability to collaborate across functions and regions.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic approaches.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into succinct insights.
  • Excellent communication skills for summarizing strategies and data.
  • Experience in strategic planning, business development, or management consulting is desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI for dashboards and data visualization.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and business judgment skills.

Nice to Have

  • MBA or Master's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of people management experience with proven leadership ability.
  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • Experience in business development or strategy functions.
  • Advanced skills in Power BI, dashboard creation, and data visualization.
  • Demonstrated success in managing teams and change initiatives.
  • Financial modeling and sensitivity analysis experience.
  • Understanding of market research techniques.
