About the Role

Responsible for overseeing the PMO team; strategically managing and activating the pipeline; leading the development of streamlined workflows using a blended methodology of Waterfall and Agile practices; establishing a structure where Program and Project Management are nested yet distinct for all Stanford Medicine Marketing projects; collaborating with cross-functional and internal stakeholders on key projects from planning to reporting; success is defined by creating scalable, effective processes aligned with SHC and Marketing business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a team of Marketing Project Managers and Program Managers with clear differentiation and distinction.
  • Define, analyze, and optimize project management processes to create sustainable, scalable standards and best practices that improve collaboration, workflows, budget management, long-range planning, and quick go-to-market execution.
  • Oversee and document the management and operations of various marketing projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and targets are met by implementing Waterfall and Agile practices, including iterative sprint planning and milestone-based phases.
  • Own and drive the end-to-end workflow process; perform detailed intake, understand workload, and prioritize work to ensure delivery of key initiatives using a documented data model for reporting.
  • Facilitate primary and secondary scheduling across Marketing and stakeholders.
  • Create and document a portfolio of reports with defined cadence, including a relevant CMO Update.
  • Manage and upskill the careers of the PMO team by fostering a growth mindset to ensure team development and high engagement.
  • Implement clear process KPIs to track Marketing Operations Program performance and support data-driven decision making.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and directing a project management and operations function within a mid-to-large organization, using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience building and leading a team through challenges to achieve success aligned with the Stanford Medicine brand.
  • Passionate about streamlining processes and creating frameworks and structures for improvement.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work in a rapidly changing, iterative environment managing multiple priorities and demands.
  • Ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams and external resources.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, flexible, agile, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to bring calm assurance in high-energy or sensitive interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Nice to Have

  • Background in Marketing, Marketing Operations, or Strategic Operations.
  • Hospital, healthcare, or academic center experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience in marketing, operations, or related fields.

Benefits & Perks

  • Base Pay Scale generally starting at $74.73 - $99.04 per hour.
  • The final salary will be based on experience, education, and other factors.
