Key Responsibilities

  • Own Calm's paid acquisition media planning and budgeting, building a cross-channel media plan to maximize results across digital and offline channels including paid social, paid search, Apple Search Ads (ASA), Google UAC, and emerging platforms.
  • Set and manage annual media budgets and performance targets in partnership with Finance, ensuring cost efficiency and ROI aligned with Calm's financial plan.
  • Develop accurate forecasts, lead regular pacing, and manage budget processes to maintain accountability and alignment with the broader DTC financial goals.
  • Track and report on month-to-date (MTD) and year-to-date (YTD) pacing, working closely with the finance team.
  • Partner with internal media buyers to analyze channel performance and trends, identify optimization opportunities, and implement solutions to improve results.
  • Collaborate with media buyers, UA analytics, and creative strategists to ensure alignment, communication, and operational excellence to meet business goals.
  • Deliver regular performance updates, insights, channel outlooks, and growth recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Analyze data proactively to surface trends and identify opportunities within channels, funnels, or the broader business, then work with teams to test and implement solutions.
  • Manage team roadmaps to ensure top priority workstreams are progressing on time and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Assist in developing and optimizing internal processes to enhance team productivity.
  • Drive adoption of AI tools within workflows to increase productivity, automate tasks, improve data accuracy, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in acquisition or performance marketing roles, with deep experience managing paid channels in-house.
  • Proven success managing 8-figure paid media budgets across multiple channels.
  • In-depth understanding of media strategy, cross-channel planning, and campaign performance analysis.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in media planning, budget forecasting, and optimizing spend for efficiency and scale.
  • Experience working across paid social, paid search, ASA, Google UAC, and offline channels within a DTC environment.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with mobile app or subscription-based performance marketing.

Qualifications

  • Deep experience managing paid media in-house with 8-figure budgets.
  • Effective project management skills, meeting timelines and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Understanding of media math, strategy, and channel dynamics.
  • Proficiency in working with finance teams on forecasting and financial planning.
