About the Role

The Marketing Team Director - Organized Customer, Respiratory at Genentech is responsible for leading strategic marketing initiatives within the respiratory therapeutic area. The role involves influencing decisions across the full product value chain, developing integrated campaigns, managing a team of marketers, and driving long-term brand profitability. Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for strategy through execution of a business segment, including tracking forecast goals and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Responsible for meeting short-term (90-day) and long-term (3-5 year) strategic goals impacting customer utilization and patient access.
  • Oversee capacity planning, enablement, project coaching, and management of 3 or more marketers.
  • Manage all aspects of people practices within the team.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to influence brand objectives and long-range goals.
  • Analyze customer insights, including journeys and personas, to inform marketing strategies.
  • Translate high-level brand strategy into the development and execution of respiratory marketing campaigns.
  • Design and execute integrated marketing campaigns across multiple platforms and channels.
  • Coordinate with agencies and review committees to ensure compliant and effective promotional tactics.
  • Partner with analytics and field teams to measure and optimize marketing performance.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a sense of belonging and motivation.
  • Lead Biosimilar Strategy for Respiratory to maximize long-term profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of work experience, including 6 years in sales, market access, or customer insights, with at least 2 years in marketing.
  • Deep understanding of physician rebate programs and payer contracting/negotiations.
  • Experience owning tactics from strategy through execution and articulating business problems.
  • Strong customer understanding, including developing personas and customer journeys.
  • Experience in omnichannel/digital marketing roles.
  • Proven ability to measure success and optimize campaigns for business value.
  • Experience creating marketing strategies that strengthen market positioning and drive outcomes.
  • Prior experience operating in biosimilar and innovator marketplaces.
  • Strategic thinking skills with the ability to make tough decisions balancing profitability and top-line growth.
  • Knowledge of access execution with working relationships across customer segments.

  • MBA or other related graduate degree.
  • People leadership experience.
  • Experience working in an omnichannel/digital marketing role.
  • Experience measuring success of investments and continuously improving tactics.
  • Proven track record in strategic thinking and decision-making.
