About the Role

State Street (STT) is seeking a seasoned media relations executive to join its Global Public Relations team as VP of Public Relations for State Street Global Advisors, the firm's asset management arm. The role emphasizes leading ETF media engagement and broader product PR programs. The candidate will report to the global head of PR within the global communications team, focusing on media relations, reputation management, and developing global PR strategies to support the firm's objectives. The position involves working in a fast-paced, global environment with a client-service approach, managing external agencies, and producing reports to demonstrate campaign results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with internal PR teams, global marketing, and external agencies to create and deliver media-driven activities supporting the firm's corporate PR strategy and business units' objectives.
  • Develop product and media campaign strategies around thought leadership topics such as asset stewardship, retirement, emerging markets, quantitative investing, and private credit.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with global, national, and regional press contacts within the business.
  • Align PR strategy with business objectives through collaboration with stakeholders and partners.
  • Own programs and campaigns from concept through execution independently.
  • Compose and edit content including press releases, bylines, talking points, media briefings, and social/digital media content.
  • Support media interactions of business stakeholders at industry conferences.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in communications/public relations with a successful track record of developing relationships with reporters and securing media coverage.
  • Significant experience in asset management and extensive relationships with relevant journalists covering the industry.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Exceptional client management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create and manage integrated PR/marketing plans and timelines.
  • Strong command of traditional, digital, social, and integrated marketing tactics.
  • Strong writing, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience developing reports on media metrics and analytics.
  • Media relations and PR experience across corporate functions including Inclusion and Diversity, CSR, and ESG.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and Fintech knowledge is preferred.
