Job Description

About the Role

Cherokee Insights is seeking a Media Specialist to support INSCOM missions by formulating concepts, performing layout of graphic design, and producing final products including photographic, text, abstract illustrations, computer graphics, and animation programs. The position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance and is part of Cherokee Federal, a division of Cherokee Nation Businesses focused on federal contracting and serving government clients with compassion and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, design and edit charts, graphs, video and other electronic media to support briefings, reports, multimedia presentations, web pages, business cards, signs, brochures, programs, original design work, posters, static displays, marketing products, diagrams, video presentation materials, and other mediums that convey a clear focus, theme, and message for intended audiences.
  • Consult with clients to transform and interpret ideas and information into graphic products.
  • Define requirements, analyze existing problems, constraints and capabilities, and develop recommendations and/or solutions that result in a complete product.
  • Analyze content, organization, and written presentation of tentative findings, draft reports, and final reports.
  • Work with clients to ensure data is accurately developed, coordinated, and integrated.
  • Recommend improvements to designs and offer options, making initial decisions on design matters such as size, layout, materials, color schemes, typography, lighting effects, or visual elements like photos, illustrations, videos.
  • Determine how best to present specified subject matter information, assessing available information and visual material, and identifying additional sources as needed.
  • Coordinate product development with clients to ensure standards and expectations are met and products conform to specifications.
  • Create and maintain a work order request tool and project tracker on SIPR Portal.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings related to graphic support requirements and projects.
  • Manage and maintain an electronic image/product library accessible to personnel.
  • Design crests, seals, coins, images, signage, and similar products to support recruiting, branding, and events.
  • Use government-provided equipment to produce final graphic design deliverables according to established deadlines.
  • Package work orders and templates/masters for external production and submit to vendors, using ODC to acquire final products.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in fine arts or five (5) years of professional graphic design work and production experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with graphic design and production supporting marketing and strategic communications missions.
  • Master-level proficiency with industry/commercial standard graphic design software (Desktop publishing, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Pro, etc.).
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with electronic media, graphic products, desktop publishing, and video presentations.
  • Experience supporting INSCOM or military-related missions.
  • Knowledge of government or military graphic standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in fine arts or five years of professional graphic design experience.
