About the Role

The Manager of District Sales at Performance Foodservice in the Quad Cities, Illinois, is responsible for supervising the sales staff within their district, participating in the development of the regional sales plan, and ensuring sales, profitability, and accounts receivable performance. The role involves leading a team, building customer relationships, and supporting the company's food distribution system through sales and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervises associates including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
  • Develops and educates sales staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and company policies through monthly sales meetings.
  • Attains targeted sales as determined by business goals.
  • Operates department and assigned personnel within budgetary guidelines.
  • Demonstrates awareness of customer needs and develops policies and practices to meet those needs.
  • Develops interpersonal relationships to encourage openness, candor, and trust both internally and externally.
  • Provides informative and professional assistance to customers, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Participates in industry organization meetings, develops and presents major account presentations, and attends industry shows and events.
  • Interacts with customers and vendors in a friendly, timely, and quality manner, ensuring questions are answered accurately.
  • Manages customer complaints, issues, and emergencies.
  • Establishes and monitors major account prospect lists.
  • Processes customer rebates and incentives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience.
  • 4-6 years foodservice sales and team lead or supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelors: Business management, sales, marketing, or related area.
  • 6-10 years foodservice sales supervisory or management experience.

Qualifications
