Mid-Market Solutions Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Enterprise prospects and customers to educate, empower, and ensure their success on the Cloudflare platform.
• Leverage technical expertise to find best-fit solutions for prospects, including developing firewall rules, crafting performance caching and delivery strategies, and creating or repurposing internal tools and scripts.
• Train and onboard new customers via video conference, in person, or through documentation.
• Support the long-term success of customers by working across teams at Cloudflare, including Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support.
• Act as a technical customer advocate within Cloudflare, seeking scalable solutions for customer needs.

Requirements

• Ability to explain complex technical concepts in easy-to-understand terms.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for building and working with technology.
• Understanding of how the internet works, including TCP & UDP, authoritative DNS & recursive DNS, and cloud computing, storage, and networking concepts.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts such as WAF, Zero Trust, SASE, and their application in a technical context.
• Experience managing projects, working to deadlines, and prioritizing demands.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in a sales or consulting role, even outside of tech.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, etc., and a desire to expand those skills.
• Built or contributed to web applications in a meaningful way.
• Ability to describe CSRF, XSS, and SQLi, and Cloudflare's role in defending against them.
• Understanding or experience with regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC-2.
• Knowledge of LLMs and their integration into distributed network environments.
