The organization operates a state-of-the-art national research and education network and offers a comprehensive service portfolio including trust and identity solutions, cloud programs, research engagement initiatives, and community-building programs. The Minority Serving - Cyberinfrastructure Consortium (MS-CC) supports advanced cyberinfrastructure at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) through community-centered programs focused on workforce development, collaboration, research computing, and institutional capacity-building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing a cohesive, integrated communications and content strategy across multiple platforms, including web, social media, newsletters, and promotional campaigns.
  • Creating and maintaining the MS-CC website, including building and modifying site structure and content using a content management system (CMS).
  • Developing an ongoing content plan that engages MSI audiences with stories, updates, and opportunities, and building a digital presence that encourages community engagement.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to communicate upcoming events, programming, success stories, and engagement opportunities.
  • Measuring the effectiveness of communication efforts using tools such as Google Analytics, HubSpot, and social media insights, and synthesizing data into reports to inform decision-making.
  • Applying understanding of higher education decision-making, trust-building, and community engagement to craft authentic storytelling.
  • Leading integrated thinking by understanding how web, branding, content, social media, and engagement tools work together as a holistic ecosystem.
  • Identifying and highlighting compelling narratives from MS-CC institutions to ensure authentic storytelling that resonates with HBCUs, TCUs, and MSIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or digital content management.
  • Experience building and maintaining websites with knowledge of CMS platforms such as WordPress or Drupal and basic web technologies like HTML and CSS.
  • Experience developing and implementing integrated marketing and communication strategies across digital platforms (web, social, email, etc.).
  • Proficiency with digital analytics tools such as HubSpot, Google Analytics, and social media insights to measure and optimize content and campaigns.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor messaging to higher education audiences.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience working with higher education institutions, especially Minority Serving Institutions like HBCUs and TCUs.
  • Familiarity with NSF-funded programs or similar grant-driven initiatives.
  • Strong background in content strategy, including designing content calendars and managing long-term engagement campaigns.
  • Ability to tell powerful, community-centered stories that uplift diverse voices.
  • Experience working across various media—digital, print, email, social—and developing graphics for these media types.
  • Understanding of cultural nuances and sensitivities within MSI communities, with a commitment to equity-focused storytelling and communication.

Qualifications

  • Educational background or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in relevant fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in related roles.

Benefits & Perks

  • Participation in Internet2's employee benefits program including medical, dental, life, vision, and disability insurances.
  • Health spending account program.
