About the Role

Breakthru Beverage Group is seeking a National Accounts Manager to drive volume, share, and profit growth in key accounts. The role involves managing relationships with buyers of multi-unit accounts, collaborating with trade development, field sales, retailers, and division managers to execute business programs and strategies. The position requires a results-oriented professional capable of developing and maintaining strong account relationships and executing promotional and marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains key accounts by effectively communicating marketing plans, developing and maintaining relationships with key influencers of purchasing in multi-unit accounts, presenting new products, executing on promotional events where appropriate, and conducting business reviews as prescribed by management.
  • Lead development of annual plans for key accounts that state agreed brand and consumer strategies and ensure the delivery of business goals.
  • Employ strategies that strengthen position to be the wholesaler of choice in the account's planning processes.
  • Educate account staff on priority brands by administering instructional staff training seminars and business/category insights where appropriate.
  • Manage and evaluate all promotional spending by account priority with regards to performance and implement corrective business building actions.
  • Assist in the development of account-specific presentations as well as goals for volume, profit, distribution, and merchandising promotion execution.
  • Proactively participate in strategy briefing sessions while continuously providing feedback on program executions, effectiveness, and generating problem-solving ideas.
  • Drive volume and profit growth of multi-unit accounts.
  • Obtain and communicate updated market competitive information.
  • Understand company pricing and product programming information on a monthly basis by reviewing and maintaining accurate records.
  • Manage supplier surveys by planning routes, pre-surveying accounts, conducting surveys, recapping, executing follow-ups, and scheduling sales representatives if appropriate.
  • Establish and present merchandising objectives relative to brand priority for each account and define POS needs to the supplier.
  • Produce POS materials such as signage and wine/cocktail lists leveraging digital capabilities.
  • Ensure maximum brand visibility within accounts by maintaining standards and using effective point of sale materials.
  • Assist event-marketing efforts by helping organize, solicit, and execute events and brand promotions.
  • Manage accounts directly, similar to a Sales Representative, with limited reporting needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent training and work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales.
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and presentation software.
  • Results-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy, discretion, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and within a team, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
  • Analytic and reporting skills.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, team environment.

Nice to Have

  • Supervisory experience.
  • Relevant cross-functional experience (finance, operations, IT, HR, project management, etc.).
  • Possess a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Educational background includes a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of sales experience.
