About the Role

The National Director of Sales for CICA Life is a pivotal role responsible for driving the growth and profitability of sales in the US markets for the company. This role is responsible for establishing short and long-term business objectives, developing strategic business plans for different markets, reviewing and implementing policies, and managing department budgets. The position oversees the development of sales strategies and distribution networks, ensuring alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives, while also ensuring execution of those plans. The Director will lead the US sales team and independent distributors' activities, focusing on achieving sales and retention targets, and representing the company within the business community. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales nationally for all company products that will be sold.
  • Provide leadership, development, and performance management for staff.
  • Work with other company executives as part of the Executive Management Team to establish short-term objectives and long-range goals, as well as related plans and policies.
  • Interact and present sales and marketing presentations/reports and provide status updates on the company's marketing operations to the Board of Directors, shareholders, Senior Leaders, and staff.
  • Shape the sales and distribution strategy while anticipating and interpreting market changes.
  • Ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards.

Requirements

  • Execution focused on meeting company goals and sales targets.
  • Detailed understanding of the Life Insurance and Supplemental Health business, with prior experience in developing financial or life insurance products and solutions.
  • Proven success in driving profitable growth through sales and distribution channels in the life insurance industry.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record of building and motivating high-performing external sales teams.
  • High emotional intelligence and self-awareness, with the ability to collaborate and interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, complex business environment shaped by constant change and innovation.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and implementing digital and non-digital sales and marketing strategies.
  • Ability to lead through change.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented work style with good time management and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, marketing, communications or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in life insurance operations.
  • Knowledge of life insurance products, market segments, and marketplaces.
  • Experience working with and developing IMO, FM, MGA, and special program business.
  • Life and Health License a plus.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, or Mandarin is a plus.
