About the Role

The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a field-based and remote role supporting key accounts within an assigned geography. The position involves engaging with healthcare providers and customers to identify mutual priorities, address needs, and enhance patient outcomes through clinical and account selling, omni-channel engagement, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes a customer-centric approach, strategic planning, and leveraging Novartis resources to improve product demand and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pinpoint mutual priorities and utilize insights and strategies across the entire account to formulate a strategic territory business plan that aims to enhance product demand by addressing the requirements of key partners and their patients.
  • Encourage clinical discussions that motivate the customer to advocate for their patients and involve the entire account team to identify barriers and offer suitable solutions.
  • Utilize expertise and understanding of market data, competitors, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies to foresee and manage business opportunities and challenges.
  • Conduct planning meetings with key stakeholders to address complex customer issues and collaborate across departments to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Examine market data and trends within the territory to understand the local business landscape, promote engagement, and lead virtual and live customer interactions.
  • Utilize omni-channel or multi-channel strategies to maximize engagement with customers, whether in person or virtually.
  • Work collaboratively with regional colleagues, field staff, and home-office teams to proactively meet customer needs and deliver access support.
  • Deliver timely access assistance and collaborate with Patient Specialty Services (PSS) associates to address customer requirements efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus.
  • 2+ years' experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or a similar sales role within the last 5 years.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions in a matrix environment and communicate clinical product details proficiently.
  • Proven high performance in sales or related roles and experience navigating large accounts and key customer segments.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify, prioritize, and use relevant data for problem-solving.
  • Ability to travel 60-80% over a broad geography, with a valid driver's license.
  • Candidate must reside within the territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 50 miles from the territory border.

  • Experience across therapeutic groups, disease states, account management strategy, and new product launches.
  • Broad understanding of patient services, market access, buy and bill, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement, and medical calling on HCPs regarding sophisticated products or reimbursement pathways.
