About the Role

As the Head of Marketing NA for the Home & Personal Care (HPC) Business at Spectrum Brands, you will lead all marketing aspects and teams related to commercializing our brands in North America (US and Canada). You will oversee a portfolio of brands in In-Home Appliances and Personal Care categories, developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, consumer acquisition, and revenue growth across B2C, D2C, and potentially B2B channels. This is a key leadership position within the organization, part of the North American Leadership Team, responsible for aligning global strategies with regional execution and managing cross-functional collaborations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive delivery of key business objectives including Net Sales, EBITDA, Gross Margin, and market share.
  • Lead the development of brand building initiatives for North America in partnership with the Global Marketing Team.
  • Practice ownership and accountability for the P&L, collaborating with finance to optimize financial performance.
  • Develop and deliver the long-term Strategic Plan and the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Define key imperatives, set strategies, and execute with excellence, focusing resources effectively.
  • Lead 4P strategy for the brands (Pricing, Product, Placement, Promotion) and partner with Sales on execution.
  • Assess, select, and manage the NA agency roster, ensuring performance and alignment.
  • Identify and lead process improvements for go-to-market, portfolio, and S&OP processes.
  • Analyze product portfolio, rationalize SKU lineup, and set future strategies for efficiency.
  • Lead market trend and consumer insights analysis to identify growth opportunities.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor direct reports and the marketing team, practicing a “player-coach” mentality.
  • Contribute to the NA Leadership Team by providing strategic input on business priorities and initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Brand, NPD, Sales, Finance, Operations, and HR to ensure marketing strategies support organizational growth.
  • Influence global product roadmaps and align NA market needs with global development.
  • Own product lifecycle management for the NA portfolio, ensuring SKU productivity and profitability.
  • Manage portfolio rationalization, pricing, and promotional strategies to drive efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Sales and eCommerce teams to secure product placement and develop marketing strategies for retail, online, D2C, and B2B channels.
  • Partner with global content teams to ensure content relevance and alignment with brand positioning, leading localization efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of consumer-packaged goods marketing experience with increasing responsibility.
  • 5+ years of P&L responsibility.
  • 5+ years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, and performance management.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies across multiple channels and all “4 Ps”.
  • Content development and production experience, with knowledge of media including Linear, Digital, Search, Social, CRM/email.
  • Strong written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop simple solutions.
  • Ability to operate within a matrix organization across different countries and time zones.
  • Strong leadership and change management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, prioritization, and decisiveness.
  • Creative thinking and ability to challenge the status quo.

  • Experience in managing global marketing strategies.
  • Experience in the home and personal care or consumer appliances industry.
  • Experience with digital marketing and content localization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MBA strongly preferred.
