Chevron is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Paid Media Investment Strategist to help lead the development, deployment, and performance optimization of our corporate paid media efforts. This role plays a key part in ensuring Chevron's campaigns reach the right audiences with precision, creativity, and impact. The individual will serve as the primary driver of media strategy and execution — collaborating with agencies, publishers, and internal partners to ensure media investments are smart, scalable, and aligned with our brand and business priorities. Chevron is one of the world's leading integrated energy companies, committed to growing traditional oil and gas businesses while lowering carbon intensity and expanding into lower carbon and renewable energy sectors. The company values diversity, innovation, and a collaborative global work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Chevron's corporate paid media investments across audience segments.
  • Serve as the day-to-day lead with external media agencies and key publishers to guide planning, execution, and performance tracking.
  • Collaborate closely with Integrated Channels, Creative, and Analytics teams to bring campaigns to market across paid, owned, and shared media.
  • Optimize media spend for performance and efficiency, leveraging data and platform insights to refine tactics and messaging.
  • Stay ahead of platform, format, and audience trends; recommend innovative opportunities that align with Chevron's brand and business goals.
  • Standardize media planning, reporting, and benchmarking to drive consistency, agility, and best practice adoption.
  • Champion the use of AI and automation to streamline processes and unlock smarter investment decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in media strategy, planning, and investment (agency or brand side).
  • Strong understanding of digital and traditional media channels, including programmatic and paid social.
  • Experience managing external agency relationships and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in planning for both large audiences and small, niche audiences.
  • Analytical mindset with comfort in data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of media buying platforms, tools, and measurement frameworks.
  • Curiosity for emerging tech, AI, and trends reshaping the media landscape.
  • Proactive, self-motivated approach and ability to anticipate needs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Collaborative team player with a commitment to organizational success.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI and automation in media planning.
  • Knowledge of emerging media formats and platforms.
  • International experience or familiarity with global markets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in media strategy, planning, and investment.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive compensation and benefits programs including variable pay, healthcare coverage, retirement plans, and insurance.
  • Time off programs, training and development opportunities, and various allowances.
  • Hybrid work models and alternative work schedules.
  • Access to health and wellness programs.
  • Career development through onboarding, mentoring, and employee networking groups.
