About the Role

The Partnership Development Leader is responsible for developing and executing strategic partnerships within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role involves solving complex problems, working effectively with cross-functional teams, and embodying the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of developing and executing a strategic partnership.
  • Solve complex problems related to partnership development and execution.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams including Finance, Legal, Operations, and Commercial teams.
  • Define strategic objectives and evaluate partnership opportunities against those objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships that facilitate the partnership development process and decision-making.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on assigned deals, including business model, valuation, and transaction structure.
  • Partner with Finance to develop commercial and financial models supporting strategic partnership objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional team through business case development, deal execution, and partnership integration.
  • Identify partnership opportunities that support the company's strategic priorities.
  • Build ongoing processes to enhance the company's partnership development capabilities.
  • Work in collaboration with the partnership implementation team to build integration plans that realize the business case.
  • Travel to Kroger campuses and vendors for meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree related field.
  • 7+ years in corporate development, management consulting, investment banking, or venture capital with experience in retail or technology.
  • Self-starter capable of excelling in a fluid environment and balancing multiple projects.
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team and develop others.
  • Practical business sense with the ability to translate strategic decisions into operational implications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships for partnership development.
  • Exceptional executor with focus on details, accuracy, and quality.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence senior-level decision-making.
  • Experience in end-to-end partnership execution, including identifying, developing, and executing strategic partnerships.

Nice to Have

  • Master's Degree related field.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams of senior leaders to define strategic objectives.
  • Supervisory experience including performance reviews and providing feedback.
  • Experience establishing processes to build partnership development capabilities.
  • Ability to act as a subject matter expert on deals, including valuation and transaction structure.
  • Experience partnering with Finance to develop commercial and financial models.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams through business case development, deal execution, and partnership integration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, management consulting, investment banking, or venture capital.
