About the Role

The Quality Analyst in Patient Safety at Children's Health is responsible for applying clinical data in an evolving data environment to identify opportunities for process and outcome improvements. The role involves analyzing data, preparing reports for leadership, and supporting quality improvement activities across various divisions or hospitals. The position is remote with occasional attendance at Trinity Tower in Dallas, and it aims to promote high-quality, safe patient care aligned with the organization's mission to Make Life Better for Children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages quality data processes including input, gathering, aggregation, and analysis of data.
  • Develops and maintains dashboards, and provides ongoing analytical support.
  • Coordinates efforts among designated departments and groups across Children's Health System of Texas, including Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance, Benchmarking, Patient Safety, and Performance Improvement.
  • Completes requested or self-initiated special projects and analysis.
  • Designs reports, analysis, and graphic presentations to communicate complex or detailed information.
  • Provides analytical support and collaborates with clinicians and staff regarding data collection, entry, analysis, and dissemination of results.
  • Trains staff in statistical findings, data design, and problem solving as needed.
  • Supports quality improvement and outcome analyses, interprets and presents findings.
  • Ensures the protection of confidential and sensitive data.
  • Designs, develops, and analyzes reports from multiple data sources such as EPIC and PHIS.
  • Validates, troubleshoots, and reconciles disparate data in data sets and reports.
  • Summarizes complex findings through data visualization.
  • Makes recommendations for quality improvement opportunities.
  • Provides measurement support for quality and patient safety initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains a data repository serving as a source of truth for quality measures.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a healthcare or clinical environment.
  • Experience with electronic health records and complex databases.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret and present data findings.
  • Experience with data visualization and report design.
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality improvement processes.

Nice to Have

  • Pediatric Health Information Systems certification (e.g., EpicCare Ambulatory Certification).
  • Graduate or professional degree or advanced experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of healthcare or clinical experience.
