The Principal Data/AI Engineer will serve as a senior technical leader for the Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence program at AT&T, specializing in advanced data engineering, integration, and solutions within the Microsoft Power Platform environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring our digital tools work cohesively to support Citizen Developers and automated solutions across AT&T.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced data analytics and reporting to drive business insights, monitor application performance, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee and assess security and governance protocols for the Microsoft Power Platform tenant, recommending improvements to safeguard data and application integrity.
  • Review and evaluate database architecture and development to ensure scalability, efficiency, and compliance with best practices.
  • Develop and maintain data engineering best practices and contribute to insights on data analytics and visualization concepts, methods, and techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data solutions align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Advise on technical knowledge and AT&T technologies.
  • Serve as an expert-level technical professional in data and AI engineering projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field preferred.
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in data engineering, data science, software development, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing automation solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, and/or Copilot Studio).
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional technical projects and collaborating with business stakeholders.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, relational and non-relational databases.
  • Full Stack Application Development experience with React, Angular, NodeJS, and scripting languages.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with database architecture and development best practices.
  • Knowledge of security and governance protocols for cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform tools and automation solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (preferred).
  • 8-10 years of experience in data engineering, data science, or software development.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Power Platform automation solutions.
