About the Role

The Neuromodulation Principal Downstream Marketing Manager at Boston Scientific is responsible for developing marketing plans and activities for Pain Stimulation products, including Spinal Cord Stimulators and Radiofrequency Ablation devices. The role involves establishing and enhancing product placement within the competitive landscape, developing business plans, overseeing market research, monitoring competitive activity, and interfacing with engineering, manufacturing, patients, and sales to develop or improve products and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of strategic and tactical plans for business units or regions, ensuring alignment with stakeholder objectives.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses to support strategic decision-making considering market and competitive forces.
  • Develop and communicate business objectives under conditions of uncertainty and complexity.
  • Review portfolios to identify improvement areas, evaluate problems, and present solutions to senior stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by driving discussions on emerging initiatives and disruptive innovations.
  • Analyze and recommend channel mix strategies to enhance customer engagement and experience.
  • Integrate digital systems and traditional techniques to deliver seamless customer experiences.
  • Lead the development of a vision for optimizing customer journeys across channels.
  • Lead workshops on data collection, analysis, segmentation, and customer insights application.
  • Champion innovative approaches to gathering and leveraging customer data to improve market share and cross-regional experiences.
  • Develop and present differentiated value propositions for global initiatives.
  • Establish governance processes for complex, cross-regional projects and manage stakeholder alignment.
  • Sponsor projects across geographies, manage master project plans, and provide updates to steering committees.
  • Coach project managers on Boston Scientific’s Project Management Methodology and Change Management Model.
  • Facilitate strategic relationship building internally and externally to promote collaboration.
  • Influence key stakeholders without authority and foster a global mindset.
  • Design strategies to maximize product line profitability through market research and financial analysis.
  • Define priorities for new product development and enhancements based on customer needs.
  • Contribute to departmental budgeting and resource allocation for product lifecycle management.
  • Evaluate promotional and launch strategies to ensure effective positioning and messaging.
  • Translate customer data into engineering measures for product performance evaluation.
  • Visit accounts to solicit feedback on products and programs.
  • Organize physician symposiums and coordinate with internal departments for event promotion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of professional experience in medical device marketing.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience leading strategic marketing initiatives, with a focus on product management and customer insights.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing strategic plans and innovative marketing strategies.
  • Ability to optimize channel mix and integrate digital systems for enhanced customer experiences.
  • Experience in project and resource management, managing complex, cross-regional projects.
  • Ability to influence and build strategic relationships across the organization and externally.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

Nice to Have

  • Higher education such as MBA, MPH, or MHA in health policy.
  • Specific medical device experience, particularly in neuromodulation devices.
  • Technical skills related to digital marketing, data analytics, and customer insight tools.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Educational background including a bachelor's degree; advanced degrees such as MBA, MPH, or MHA are preferred.

  • Anticipated salary range from $127,900 to $243,000, commensurate with experience.
