Job Description

About the Role

The Principal Product Manager in this role is responsible for leading the end-to-end ownership of the Walmart Accelerated Pickup & Delivery (APD) Assortment Product space. Based in Bentonville, Arkansas, this position involves working closely with cross-functional teams including Global Tech, Operations, and Merchandising to develop scalable and innovative solutions that improve customer and associate experience through automation and data-driven strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use data, advanced analytics, and AI/ML tools to optimize assortment selection.
  • Build strategies for optimizing assortment selection.
  • Define and track KPIs to evaluate the success of strategic initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.
  • Continuously identify new opportunities to innovate and improve Walmart's APD Assortment selection, using emerging technologies and processes.
  • Mentor a team of product managers, creating a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of Statistical Models and their applications to improve assortment selection.
  • Extensive experience in designing complex software that spans multiple teams.
  • Experience with automation flows in a store/fulfillment environment.
  • Deep understanding of Assortment inputs and flows from eligibility through supply chain and to the store.
  • Strong understanding of Automated APD processes.
  • Expertise in using data-driven insights to guide decisions and improve processes.
  • Experience in leading the development of large-scale platforms, focusing on stable and scalable assortment selection.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area.
  • Experience working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.

Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 9 years of experience in product management.
  • Option 2: 11 years of experience in product management or related area.
