Product Management, Director

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Direct a comprehensive hardware product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life.
• Collaborate with design, process, manufacturing, quality, test, marketing, and distribution teams as products move through their lifecycle.
• Formulate and execute long-term roadmaps for cost and profit control.
• Promote the use of new technologies and industry-leading trends.
• Lead and direct teams involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of products throughout all stages of their lifecycle, including modifications, upgrades, and maintenance.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience working on or supporting design and development of hardware platforms.
• 8+ years of product management or related experience.
• Experience working within a fast-paced, dynamic marketing organization.
• Knowledge of cellular phone hardware systems, handset RF subsystems, baseband peripherals and interfaces.
• Ability to evaluate and analyze objectively, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, language, writing, and editing skills.
• Ability to work independently and on cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with business decision-making and processes.

Nice to Have

• 15+ years of product management or related work experience.
• 4+ years of experience in a large matrixed organization.
• 2+ years of experience managing operating budgets and/or project financials.
• 2+ years of experience negotiating third-party business agreements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
